Chandigarh , October 4: The famous Prabhakar Films is all set to come up with the sequel of its super hit Haryanvi Movie 'Chandrawal'. The Mahurat shot of the sequel 'Chandrawal-2' was filmed at a village in Raipur Rani near here today. The movie would shoot in and around Panchkula. Co-Producer and Co-Director of the movie Nishant Prabhakar said that the star cast of the movie are all fresh and new faces and are also associated with the Haryanvi background and theater. We are expecting to release the movie in the cinema houses by March 2012' said Mr. Nishant.
The film Chandrawal-2 is being directed by Mr. Dinesh Tundwal which is his first movie. Earlier also he had directed many Hindi Serials and Documentaries for Doordarshan. Tundwal said that the story of the movie starts from where the Chandrawal concludes however, according to the new situation the film take such twist and turn that keep the viewers remain interested in the movie. He said that research work has been done before finalizing the script of the movie and efforts have been made that the Haryanvi Culture and language emerge strongly in the film. However, dialogues have been written keeping in view of such audiences also that least understands Haryanvi.
Co-producer-director Nishant Prabhar said that Chandrawal was a musical hit of its time and it?s obvious that the audience would expect similar blend of music and song in Chandrawal-2 also. Certainly, the story of the film is interesting and accordingly the music has been selected. The songs are based on the compositions of famous Haryanvi writer late Mr. Devi Shankar Prabhakar and are presented in the direction of famous musician Uttam Singh. Mr. Uttam Singh had also given music in super hit movies like Dil to Pagal Hai, Gadar and Baghban. Renowned singers like Udit Narayan, Shan, Richa Sharma and find of Indian Ideal Simta Adhikari, Sonu Kakkar and Anupama Deshpande gave their voice to the songs. The movie is being choreographed by Lila Saini who has been associated with Haryanvi folk dance for a long time.
Producer of the film Mrs. Usha Sharma said that Chandrawal-2? was the dream project of his husband late Mr. Devi Shankar Prabhakar which could not be materialized due to some reasons. Though Prabhakar Film Banner is well known for Chandrawal yet other super hit films under its banner like Lado Basanti (1985), Phool Badan (1986) and Jatni (1991) were also largely appreciated by the people. Mrs. Sharma said that films Chandrawal also possess a distinguished identity in the society and the aim behind the making of its sequel was to popularize the Haryanvi Culture. She further said that Chandrawal is considered as a milestone in the category of regional language movies. The movie came up at a time when the Haryanvi Film industry was on the verge of extinction and also outclassed various then Hindi movies. She said that today the Haryanvi Film Industry is passing through the same phase and the Prabhakar Film has started a yet another inning with an aim to revive the Haryanvi Film Industry which is lying silent during the past two decades.
